Caucuses
Eleven Health Professional caucuses meet regularly to network,
discuss issues, and plan continuing education courses and other
events. The caucuses include dental, dietetic, e-preparedness, medical,
nursing, occupational therapy, pharmacy, physical therapy, psychology
and counseling, social work, and nurse practitioner. While each
of WMAHEC’s professional caucuses is unique, they all have
five common goals:
• To provide forums for professional interchange and networking
in academic and applied fields.
• To support and facilitate student recruitment training and
clinical education.
• To support the attainment of continuing professional education
and certification.
• To advocate for improved healthcare in the Western Maryland
region.
• To improve community awareness.
Caucus members are practitioners from the WMAHEC service area. Membership
is open to all of those who meet the professional requirements of
the discipline. New members are always welcome and encouraged to
attend the caucus meetings and programming.
