Occupational Therapy Caucus


The mission of the Occupational Therapy Caucus shall be to:
  1. Provide a forum for professional communication, interchange and networking for individuals in the academic and applied fields of Occupational Therapy.
  2. Support and facilitate student recruitment, training and clinical education in Occupational Therapy.
  3. Encourage and support the attainment of continuing professional education, advanced degrees in Occupational Therapy.
  4. Assure liaison with the Board of Directors and other AHEC caucuses, and task forces with the other Occupational Therapy-related educational and professional organizations to advocate for improved health care services in the Western Maryland region.
  5. Improve community awareness of and sensitivity to Occupational Therapy issues and services.

Active members of the Occupational Therapy Caucus shall fulfill the following Qualifications:

  • Be currently enrolled in an Occupational Therapy degree program
  • Have completed course work for OTA or OTR, or
  • Represent a health care organization, Occupational Therapy educational program in Western Maryland or an organized professional Occupational Therapy group.

Meetings:

  • Meetings are held in March, June, September, and December on the 2nd Monday of the month.
