Nursing Caucus

1. Provide a forum for professional communication, interchange and networking for individuals in the academic and applied fields of nursing.
2. Support and facilitate student recruitment and training in nursing.
3. Encourage and support the attainment of advanced degrees in nursing.
4. Support nursing research activities.
5. Assure liaison with the Board of Directors, other AHEC caucuses, and task forces with the other Nursing-related educational and professional organizations to advocate for improved health care services in the Western Maryland region.
6. Improve community awareness of and sensitivity to nursing issues and services.

Active members of the Nursing Caucus shall fulfill the following Qualifications:

• Individuals who hold RN licensure and are actively employed in health care.
• Representatives from health care agencies, educational programs, and professional groups in Western Maryland.

Meetings:

• Meetings are held in March, June, September, and December on the 2nd Monday of the month.
