Nurse Practitioner Caucus


The mission of the Nurse Practitioner Caucus shall be to:
  1. Provide a forum for professional communication, interchange and networking for advanced practice nurses.
  2. Serve as a conduit for information from the Nurse Practitioner Association of Maryland.
  3. Encourage and support the attainment of advanced degrees in Nursing and provide advanced continuing education opportunities.
  4. Promote the professional status of nurse practitioners and freedom within their scope of practice.
  5. Assure liaison with the Board of Directors and with other Nursing-related educational and professional organizations to advocate for improved health care services in the Western Maryland region.
  6. Improve community awareness of and sensitivity to nurse practitioner issues and services.
  7. Provide support and service to the community on health-related needs.

 

Active members of the Nursing Practitioner Caucus shall fulfill the following Qualifications:
  • Individuals who are certified registered nurse practitioners, clinical nurse specialist, nurse anesthetist, nurse midwife, or clinical nurse specialists. Nurse practitioner students shall be free to attend the educational and business meetings. Student members may have a voice but no vote. Health care providers such as physician assistants or MDs may attend the educational meetings. Associate members may not attend the business meetings.

Meetings:

  • Meetings are held on the 2nd Thursday of each month, except during Summer months (June, July, and August), from 6:30pm to 9:30pm.
