The field of Aging (Gerontology and Geriatrics) offers jobs and careers in an area that:
Is growing rapidly
Provides jobs at a variety of skills and education
Is an opportunity to help people

Because people are living longer, there are rapidly increasing numbers of older persons. The needs of older persons are often complex and require people with a great variety of knowledge and skills:
You can work directly with older people
You can work on behalf of older people
You can create envrionments and tools that meet the needs of older people

If you are interested in rehabilitation, psychology, adult education, social work, architecture, engineering, counseling, recreation, public policy, law, dentistry, medicine, nursing, health care administration, publishing, journalism, or almost any other field, you can work with or on behalf of the elderly.
